Satsuki-chan's FF7 Movie Cast (Does this not impress you?)

Ohayo, and welcome to the FF7 Movie Cast, an offshoot of Satsuki's Sugoi Page. Some of the ideas here took quite a while to think up, and I'm mostly happy with the way things turned out. Actors for some of the characters jumped out at me (Cloud, Reeve, Reno...) whereas I thought about others forever and I'm still not happy with the outcome (Yuffie, Tifa, Vincent, Sephiroth...) ^_^

Before I get started, I'd like you to know that I took a great deal of artistic liscence (sp?) with some of the characters. In some cases it was easy to think of actors who fit the character in every way. In others, I had to ignore the way a character looked and go by personality alone. President Shinra is a perfect example of this. And I still don't have any ideas for Shera, Zack, Palmer, Dio, or Don Corneo... Cloud Strife - Ewan McGregor I'm really not a huge Star Wars fan, but if you are you'll recognize a lot of the actors here. Why? I just like a lot of them. ^_^ Look at Ewan over there - He really fits Cloud's descrption pretty well. Handsome, blond, dashing... And for all those who did like Ep. 1, at least we know he can handle a sword in action sequences pretty well. ^^;
Tifa Lockheart - Lea Salonga Tifa was a hard one for me. I tried to think of a cute, youthful Asian ( I think Tifa should be Asian) actress who spoke English, and it just didn't happen. Eventually I though of Lea. She's a great actress, and looks sort of like Tifa, but I don't know how well she'd do with any action scenes. Plus she lacks some of Tifa's... assets. -_-;
Yuffie Kisagari - Shiina Hekiru Ok, I give... I find myself at a loss for Yuffie so I'm going with a seiyuu. -_-;; Shiina-san looks about right for the part, and if you've ever heard her work you know that she'd be perfect for Yuffie's Hyper teenage nature.
Barret Wallace - Mr. T This one is pretty obvious...
Aeris Gainsborough - Natalie Portman I think Natalie looks a lot like Aeris; youthful and sweet looking with brown hair. And we all know that she has practice as a heroine. ^_^
Aeris 2 - Heather Graham Heather would be my second choice. She has kind of the same face as Aeris, and has practie as a heroine too. But I think she doesn't look as right for the part as Natalie does. I think maybe she's too old for Aeris...
Aeris 3 - Veerle Casteleyen (sp?) Veerle is my third choice. She's a dancer/theater actor that I think has sort of an aeris-ish look about her. She doesn't have really any movie experience though, and I don't thnk she speaks English very well...
Cait Sith - v/Jon Stewart I think Jon would make a wonderful Cait! He's my second favorite comedian, and he's so incredibly cute as host of the Daily Show. He says he can't act, but I beg to differ. ^_^ I'm not sure how he'd do with voices, but I can see him as a cute, if somewhat sarcastic Cait Sith.
Cait Sith 2 - v/Greg Proops Greg is my all time favorite comedian; He's such a smartass, but in a good, cute way. ^_^ I'm sure he'd make a great Cait. He's had some practice with voices, I know. I personally think that he wouldn't have to adjust his voice at all, since it's pretty unique as is. You'd have to hear his stand up to know what I mean. ^_^
Cait Sith 3 - v/Trace Bealieu Mst3k fans unite! Trace here was the original voice of Crow T. Robot on Mystery Science Theater 3000; I think he would make the best Cait Sith. Wouldn't a Cait with Crow's voice be kakkoi? ^_^
Red 13 - v/James Earl Jones Even though Red is just a teenager, I can't help but picture him with this deep majestic voice. And we all know that JEJ has one of those. ^_^ Besides, he's a very talented man and I have no doubt that he'd be able to pull off all of Red's emotional scenes with no problem. Plus JEJ has experience in doing voices for lions. Can't beat that. ^_^
Vincent Valentine - Jeff Goldblum I think that Jeff Goldblum is one of the sexiest men alive, and he fits Vince's descrption perfectly. He's tall, dark, and incredibly pretty. Could he do Vince's cool, dettached aura? Hell yeah! He seems pretty dettached in most movies I've seen him in. Besides, he's just soooo pretty. ^^ He seems like he might be a little old for the role, but you never know. It's not as if he looks it. 0.o;
Vincent 2 - John Partridge John is another incredibly pretty guy with a lot of talent as an actor/dancer. He's tall and thin, but not all that dark. He's certainly got Vince's sex appeal. But I'm not sure if he could handle the whole dark/moody aspect of the character. Then again, he's certainly a talented actor. I think he could handle anything that he put his mind to.
Vincent 3 - David Copperfield Well, David's not an actor. Nor is he tall. But I thought that he had Vince's dark, handsome look about him. That alone bears his being here, since I'm really not satisfied with my choices for Vince. David is certainly a talented performer, and we all know that magicians have to act so that the illusions appear real. He might do a good job after all. And again, he's certainly pretty!
Cid Highwind - Harrison Ford Come on, this one is really obvious. ^_^ Harrison has a penchant for playing gruff, rugged characters. And he's done a pilot or two in his day, if I'm not mistaken. After seeing him in Six Days, Seven Nights I'm positive that the role of Cid was made for him. ^v^
Sephiroth 1 - Pierce Brosnan Sephiroth was another that I had to rack my brain to come up with. In the end, I went for more rugged men; ones that were young and hot while not quite as pretty. Pierce Brosnan is hot, buff, smooth, and sexy. I think he's a good actor, and would do fairly well with some of Sephy's more bizarre scenes. Of course, whoever played Seph would have to wear contacts for those gorgous green mako eyes. ^_^
Sephiroth 2 - Dylan McDermott Or maybe not! Dylan's eyes may not be green, but they sure are gorgous! He's another buff guy who I think would fit the part well. But would he do as well with the acting? He's certainly talented, but I don't think he's done any type of characters similar to Sephy before. Then again, everyone's gotta branch out sometime, ne? ^_^
Sephiroth 3 - David Boreanaz (sp?) I don't think he's as good looking as Pierce or Dylan, and he might be a bit too young to play Sephy anyway. But as far as experience goes, his turn on Buffy would certainly put him at an advantage over the competition~!!
President Shinra - William Hurt When casting for President Shinra, I ignored the way the character looked and thought about how he acted. I think William hurt would make a lovely hardass executive in the brief few scenes he's allowed before his death. And he's much easier to look at since he's not quite as old and fat as the game's version. 0.o;;
President Shinra 2 - Jeremy Irons Jeremy Irons is probably an even better choice than the above one, since he's so good at sounding very dignified and eviiiil.
Rufus Shinra - Rufus Sewell I put up two pictures of Mr. Sewell because the first one is a normal picture of him, and the second shows him in a look that made me stand up and scream 'RUFUS SHINRA!' ^^ Compare the last two pictures, and you'll see what I mean. Rufus Sewell is perfect for the part. He's even got the huge gourgous eyes, not to mention a very convienient (sp?) name. ^_^ And while his hair isn't red, it's certainly worthy of the New Age Preident's trademark hair flick. Plus, is he not pretty? Come on. ^_^
Reeve - Tim Curry Look at those pictures - it's perfect!! This was actually the match that started this whole thing. I've always been a Tim Curry fan, and for some reason Reeve is my favorite FF7 character. Don't ask how that happened. 0.o;; Anyway, one day I noticed that these two looked a lot alike, and the rest of the page just kind of fell into place... Back to Reeve. ^_^ They do look alike, but beside that, Tim is an exceptionally talented actor with a rather dignified air. (Excluding RHPS ^_^). Wouldn't he make a great exec? And that pose in the picture over there shows that he would be great doing any retrospective scenes that Reeve would have to do.
Professor Hojo - Richard O'Brien I really hope Mr. O'Brien will forgive me for using such an unflattering picture of him (Not that he'd ever see this page...) It's him as Riff-Raff in RHPS, and it shows so beautifully why he's look perfect as Hojo. He's even got the whole overly-thin thing going for him too. And he has experience as a psycho-doctor in Shock Treatment. Honestly, you have to see him to know how cool he is. ^_^
Scarlet - Lara Flynn Boyle Ahhh! I found a picture of Lara with blond hair in an evening dress, and she'd make such a perfect Scarlet I could just die! ^_^ She's kind of pretty, but severe looking. And this picture clearly shows that she can do Scarlet's skanky look if she wants. She'd be perfect doing a severe take on the acting part too, although I'm not sure I can see her going Kya-ha-ha. -_-;;
Heidigger - Brian Blessed Actually I really don't like Brian Blessed much. He's on a couple theater Cds that I have, and his deep voice annoys me. 0_o; But let's face it, he fits Heidigger to a T. They look alike, and Brian is talented as an actor whether I like him or not. I'm sure he'd do fine. Actaully, Heidigger would sound beter with a deep voice anyway.
Tseng - B.D. Wong Ok, this is a bad one. But I think that if B.D. had the right hair and Tseng's little forehead dot thingy, he'd fit the part pretty well. He has experience as a suck up exec too, from his stint as a lab employee in Jurassic Park.
Reno - Seth Green Not only does Seth play a great smartass, but he really looks right for the part. He may not be as thin as Reno, but I don't think anyone is (Except maybe Calista Flockhart -_-;;). He even has the red hair!
Rude - Taye Diggs Unn... the bottom pic is just a little experiment of mine in making Taye look more like Rude. ^_^ I forgot the mustache... Anyway, it should show how perfect Taye is for the part. He's a good actor too, although some of his fans may not be too happy that Rude doesn't get any shirtless scenes ^_- (Or many scenes at all!). For those of you who don't get what I meant by that... Unn... well, Taye is quite buff. ^_^
Elena - Sarah Michelle Gellar Sarah's sporty, chic, and has that young look about like Elena does. Although most of the characters she plays are very capable, I'm sure she could handle an over eager ditz. Besides, Elena can be capable at times too, so there. >_<
Marlene Wallace - Mara Wilson Not only is she the cutest and most talented child actress ever, she actually looks a lot like Marlene. Even the hair styles are similar! She wouldn't have too much screen time anyway....
Bugenhagen - Eric Idle Ok, so they don't particularly look alike. Who would look like Bugenhagen anyway? That's what makeup is for people. ^_^ I think Eric Idle has the experience and the personality to play Bugenhagen. He can either be very off the wall, or else very serious and dignified. It works. ^_^
Elmyra - Susan Sarandon Elmyra was Aeris' adopted mother, for those of you who can't remember. ^_^ I think Susan Sarandon has a nice motherly look, and she's also a talented actress. Besides, in her lastest movie she plays Natalie Portman's mother. Nuff said. ^^;;	No Image of Elmyra Available. -_-;;
Professor Gast - Michael Crawford Professor Gast was a good guy, and Aeris' real father. For those who don't remember again. ^_^ Michael is one of the most talented actors ever, and I think he would perfect to play a doting, loving father like Aeris' seemed to be. It helps that he's one in real life...	No Image of Gast Available. -_-;;
Ifalna - Isabella Rossalini Ifalna is Aeris' real mother. I think that, just like Susan Sarandon, Isabella has a motherly way about her. but unlike Susan, Isabella also has a way of seeming very mystical at times. She'd be a perfect cetra/mother. ^_^	No Image of Ifalna Available. -_-;;
Dyne - Tony Shalhoub (sp?) So Tony doesn't really look like Dyne. So what? He's on Stark Raving Mad, my all time favorite Tv show at the moment. ^_^ And the character that he plays there reminds me of Dyne for some reason... You'd really have to see it yourself since I can't explain it. Besides, Tony is cool and I wanted him somewhere on the list. ^_^
Mukki - Chris Kattan I know that most of you won't remember this one... Mukki is the creepy, over H guy that you meet at the Honeybee Inn and in Costa Del Sol. I always think of Chris Kattan from Saturday Night Live when I see him, and especially his Mango and Antonio Bandarras characters. I think he'd be great as a comic relief character. ^_^	No Image of Mukki Available. -_-;;
Godo - Pat Morita This one's obvious too. Yuffie needed a noble Asian father so... there ya go. ^_^

All images of actors on this page are from various sources, and have been edited by me. If you recognize one of your images here, please tell me so I can give you credit. I've used CG from Rocket Town for some of the FF7 characters. I've only done this because it was the only place that I could find some of the more obscure characters that I have listed here, and the purpose is just so they can be compared to the actors. Please go visit them, as it's one of the best FF7 pages around, if not the best. Plus, they have a *lot* more FF7 CG than I have here.
